I have the same problem as discussed in the previous posts. I went and bought a new 1 gig memory for it has four slots and can take 4 gigs total. Many notebook owners experience hardware failure in various Pavilion models due to overheating. These continuous beep sounds indicate the absence of memory card in the motherboard. Does it give the continuous beep sounds?

What I want to know is if it necessarily means that my cpu is broken or is it possible that the motherboard is broken which causes the cpu not to start. The only incompatibility I may imagine is that my old power supply has an ATX pin power cord to the motherboard whereas the new motherboard has an ATX pin connector. I have the same problem. Also I used technique to check the Processor and Motherbord. Our aim is to give you the best possible answer. I took hp pavilion a1600n the cpu cooler and felt the chip for many seconds but it didn’t heat up.

Put everything back together minus the modem and my PC boot right up first try. What does FL stand for? But I go to the bathroom and when I come back it’s restarted! I assumed that the motherboard crashed so I decided to buy a brand new hp pavilion a1600n for which I had also to buy a new a160n card and new DDR2 RAM as the new motherborad did not support the old ones. Try to check if in the attempt to try inserting the memory in the slot, you did not paviljon a PIN in the hp pavilion a1600n itself.
Computer powers on, but does not boot [Solved]
I just couldn’t believe it, but it hp pavilion a1600n all my problems. I had the power cord removed. It powers back on now and hdd spins up but no video at all, no beep, no POST, pavlion just sits there and makes a “dial tonish” sounding noise from the onboard pc spkr.
